Business Television Shows give me the opportunity to view the reality of entrepreneurship from a third party perspective.
In most of these shows, entrepreneurs and/or their businesses are screened to detect flaws and strengths. My favorite ones are The Apprentice, Shark Tank, Dragons’ Den, Queen Boss and Restaurant Startup.

I am currently really into ABC’s Shark Tank ; In case you have never heard of it, its a business TV show that involves budding entrepreneurs pitching their businesses to a panel of investors . This show is similar to Dragons’ Den, its actually a version of it.
I was really into Dragons’ Den when i discovered Shark Tank so It took me sometime to get into it .

Here are a few things i love about the show
– Investors drilling entrepreneurs about their businesses, Investors are usually able to determine the current state of a business simply by asking a few questions .
– Investors poking one another, trying to bag a good deal or partake in a good business opportunity.
– Entrepreneurs defending their business ideas and decisions.

Here are also few lessons i have picked from the show
– The importance of paying attention to essential numbers within a business ( because numbers don’t lie) – cash flow, revenue ,gross and net profit.
– The value in connecting my background (personal,professional,academic…) to my business.
– How do a valuation of my business.
– The art of testing a product/service as well as maximizing available resources as a bootstrapper
– The importance of SWOT analysis especially when scaling up a business.

Shark tank is a fun watch that comes with major business lessons , its like taking a crash course in business. I will share some of my favorite episodes /pitches/ phrases sometime soon. I recommend this show to every budding entrepreneur, there’s alot to learn from it…..Thank me later!!!
