INSPIRATION – Olamide’s story….
On a trip to Nigeria, Olamide’s 12 year old sister had fallen ill
She needed urgent care but the closest hospital could not deal with her condition
Before Olamide’s family could get an air ambulance to transport her to a suitable health centre, Olamide’s sister died.
Olamide who graduated at 21 as one of the youngest medical doctors in England was determined to improve the health care delivery system in Nigeria.
With this in mind, Olamide studied the evacuation model and air ambulance service in other developing countries such as Kenya, Libya, Uganda and India.
She then went on to set up Flying doctors Nigeria, West Africa’s first and only full air ambulance service.
Olamide is also a trainee helicopter pilot.
In 2013, Olamide was named a young global leader by the world economic forum.
In 2015, Olamide was also named by Forbes as one of the top 30 most promising young entrepreneurs under 30
